Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. Christina Applegate was just three months old when she made her TV debut on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Applegate showed up in the arms of her mom, actress Nancy Priddy. Priddy raised Christina all alone, after her split from Applegate's father, record official Bobby Applegate.

During this period, Applegate additionally took on a few film projects, including the 1991 comedy Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.
Applegate appeared in a few comedic films in the late '90s as she tried to remove herself from the Kelly Bundy persona. She featured with Mark Wahlberg in the 1998 action comedy The Big Hit, and played the fiancee of a Mob leader in the Mafia spoof Mafia! with Lloyd Bridges and Jay Mohr that same year.
In 1998, Applegate came back to series TV. Enlivened by her involvement with her very own mom growing up, Applegate featured on the show as a single parent adjusting work and family in the sitcom Jesse.
