Eugene Levy is known as a Canadian actor, comedian, director, and writer. He is most famous for his roles in the American Pie films.
Background and Age
Eugene Levy was born on December 17, 1946 in Hamilton, Canada. He was born to Rebecca and Joseph Levy. His father worked as a foreman at a car plant while his mom was a homemaker. Levy went to high school at Westdale Secondary School before going to college at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario where he at one time filled in as VP of the school's film group, the McMaster Film Board. In the wake of graduating, the hopeful comedian started appearing in various movies before proceeding to join the improvisational comedy troupe, Second City.
Married, Wife and Kids
In 1977, Eugene Levy married the adoration symbol of his life, Deborah Divine. Deborah works as a screenwriter. Together, the couple has two children, a son named Daniel Joseph "Dan" and a daughter named Sarah.
Career and Net Worth
Before turning into a part of the first main cast of SCTV, Eugene Levy got roles in movies like Foxy Lady (1971) and Cannibal Girls (1973). He further appeared in the network shows, King of Kensington (1975) and The Sunshine Hour (1976). In the mid 80s, at the late phases of his time on SCTV, and the 90s, Levy appeared in Splash (1984), National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), Armed and Dangerous (1986), Club Paradise (1986), Stay Tuned (1992), Multiplicity (1996), and The Secret Life of Girls (1999).
In 1999, Levy got his biggest break when he was cast in the main American Pie motion picture, before proceeding to star in each of the eight movies of the established franchise. His role as the father of the lead character was beloved by the fans of the film series. His different works during that time of American Pie fame include Like Mike (2002), A Mighty Wind (2003), Bringing Down the House (2003), Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), and The Man (2005).
Recently, Eugene Levy has started going to back to television roles and appeared in network shows like Working the Engels (2014), and Schitt's Creek (2015). On Schitt's Creek, he fills in as writer and official producer in addition to his acting part. In 2016, the actor voiced the character of Charlie in the Pixar animated film, Finding Dory (2016).
In September 2019, at the 2019 Emmy Awards show, Levy was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series because of his performance in Schitt’s Creek.
