J. B. Smoove is known as an American actor, comedian and voice actor. He is most famous for his role as Leon on the HBO show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.


Jerry Angelo Brooks was born on December 16, 1965 in Plymouth, NC. He was born to Floyd Brooks and Elizabeth Brooks as the oldest of three children born in the family. As a little child, he invested the vast majority of his energy in New York, before staying with his mom's family members in Plymouth. His father, unfortunately, kicked the bucket when he was around 15 years of age.

JB attended and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1983 preceding proceeding to continue his education at Norfolk State University in Virginia. As a youngster, Smoove earned cash as a scent formulator in a fragrance factory and also worked at Mrs. G's T's, a T-shirt marking business where he marked and sold printed T-shirts that were fitted to their clients' determinations.

Smoove and Omar are guardians to one kid, a young lady whose name is Jerrica Brooks.

Acting Career and Net Worth

Smoove has been a regular cast member on the HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm since its 6th season in 2007, playing Leon Black. Smoove got the role of Leon on Curb Your Enthusiasm after his spell on Saturday Night Live. Despite the fact that he was around then dependent on the east coast, he was in Los Angeles for his companion, music producer Oji Pierce's memorial service, so he had the option to try out for Curb.
