Background and Career

Kathryn Bridget Moynahan was born on April 28, 1971, in Binghamton in New York. She is the daughter of Edward Bradley Moynahan, a scientist and former administrator at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Mary Bridget, a retired schoolteacher. Andy and Sean Moynahan are Moynahan's two brothers. Moynahan's family moved to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, when she was about seven years old. Moynahan went on to Longmeadow High School, where Moynahan was captain of the girls' soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams before graduating in 1989. She has admitted that she was a "tomboy" as a child.

As a child, she exceeded expectations in dancing and performing. As a teenager, she was popular among her companions because of her staggering gifts and beauty. She was on a path to the entertainment industry because of her intangibles.

Bridget started her movie career in the year 2000 as Rachel in the girl power film Coyote Ugly. Likewise, she has shown up in many other movies like Serendipity, Noise, I Robot, John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, and Beezus. She has also earned prominence on the TV screen in popular series like Bunker Hill, Six Degrees, Sex, and the City, and Blue Bloods.

Early Career

Despite stating that she had never read a fashion magazine as a child, Moynahan sought a modeling career after graduating from high school. She accompanied her friend to a modeling audition in Springfield, Massachusetts, but she got signed by the modeling agency instead of her friend. She began her career as a model in department store catalogs while attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Springfield. Moynahan went to New York at the age of 18 and began appearing in magazines such as Vogue and Elle and on the covers of other well-known publications a year later.

Vogue Paris (May 1993), Elle (October 1993), and Glamour (November 1993) are just a few of her notable covers (six times). In a July 2004 interview, Moynahan discussed her early job, saying, "It was a wacky world where you could make a lot of money. I like modeling, but I realized it wouldn't last, so I turned to act." She began doing soap and shampoo commercials around this time and completing acting and art classes. She studied acting at New York's Caymichael Patten Studio and made her television debut in 1999 as Natasha in HBO's romance comedy Sex and the City. She went on to have a recurrent part in the show until her character's divorce from Mr. Big (Chris Noth). She starred in lesser film roles the following year, including roles in In the Weeds and Whipped.

Personal Life

From 2001 to 2003, Moynahan shared a home with screenwriter Scott Rosenberg. From 2004 through December 14, 2006, she dated NFL quarterback Tom Brady. In a press release to People in December 2006, her representative announced their breakup, saying they had "amicably concluded their three-year relationship."

Moynahan's representative confirmed to People on February 18, 2007, that she was more than three months pregnant and that Brady was the father. She gave birth to John Edward Thomas (Jack) Moynahan on August 22, 2007. Although media circulated allegations to the contrary, Moynahan and Brady have maintained a cordial relationship after the birth of their son.

After being cast as ADA Erin Reagan on Blue Bloods, she relocated from Pacific Palisades, California, to New York in 2010. In late 2010, she began dating director McG. She married businessman Andrew Frankel at a wedding in the Hamptons on October 17, 2015. Frankel is the father of three sons from a previous marriage.
