Background

Deontay Wilder was born on October 22, 1985 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Like many sports loving young men brought up in Tuscaloosa, Wilder constantly needed to play football or basketball to stay busy and out of trouble. He had dreams of playing for his home state college team, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-7-inch Wilder's objectives changed in 2005, when his little girl, Naieya, was born with spina bifida, a birth deformity of the spinal cord. A first year recruit at Tuscaloosa's Shelton State Community College at the time, Wilder left school and worked two jobs to help his little girl.

Career

In 2007, Wilder won the National Golden Gloves title in his sixteenth amateur battle and furthermore won the U.S. title at 201 pounds. After his amateur career, Wilder started to impress in the pro ranks. He nearly got a world title shot by effectively crushing two adversaries in 2014. He picked up a first-round KO of Malik Scott in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in March, and after that ceased Jason Gavern in the fourth round in Carson, California, in August.

The success over Scott made Wilder the compulsory challenger for the big title held by Bermane Stiverne. Wilder entered the title bout with Stiverne with a flawless record of 32-0 with 32 KOs.  Battling at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on January 17, 2015, which was additionally Muhammad Ali's 73rd birthday, Wilder controlled the fight from the opening bell.

Wilder’s predominant reach blocked Stiverne from getting inside, and the Bronze Bomber verged on completing off his opponent to capture his first heavyweight title. His last bout was in 2018 when he competed to a draw with the fellow undefeated fighter, Tyson Fury.

Wilder had been out of the dating market since 2009, as he was a married man. He married the loving adoration of his life, Jessica Scales-Wilder and is currently honored with four children. His better half went to Shelton State Community College for her college graduation.

Their marriage didn’t last and Deontay has effectively parted ways with his ex-Jessica Scales. He is now having romance with Telli Swift. The dazzling pair met out of the blue at LAX Airport, and afterward started dating one another. They have officially shared three years of an intense relationship.
