Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Benoni, South Africa. She was born to co-proprietors of a street development organization, Charles and Gerda. The Afrikaans speaking family lived on a working homestead outside of Johannesburg. Despite the fact that Theron's youth tasks included tending domesticated animals, her passion for dance started to rise up. To cultivate her artistic leanings, Theron started expressive dance exercises at age six. Her folks empowered her expanding dance ability, and by age 12, she was sent to a Johannesburg school to study dance.

The Theron family unit was a troubled one, and as her father Charles battled with liquor addiction, he turned out to be physically abusive. In 1991, when Theron was 15, her father brutally assaulted her and her mom. Theron looked on as her mother, Gerda shot and killed her father, Charles. The incident was considered a demonstration of self-protection and Gerda was never accused of a wrongdoing.

Career

After a short modeling career, Theron chose to pursue acting and moved to Los Angeles. She found that her Afrikaner accent was a boundary in landing major speaking roles. Watching long periods of American TV, she worked hard to to conceal her South African roots with flawless American expressions.

In 1994, she made her acting debut in a little role in Children of the Corn III (1995). Before long, bigger parts followed in 2 Days in the Valley (1996) and That Thing You Do! (1996).

As Theron turned out to be even more a Hollywood star, she was thrown close by Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves in The Devil's Advocate (1997). Theron was in a long haul relationship with actor Stuart Townsend. After about 10 years together, the couple gave it up in 2010. Theron gave birth to a child, Jackson in 2012. She was connected to actor Sean Penn in late 2013, however it was reported that the pair split in June 2015. In 2015, she gave birth to her little girl, August.
