Tim Chapman is a retired American bounty hunter most known for assisting Duane "Dog" Chapman in tracking down and apprehending wanted fugitives on A&E TV's Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Background

Third-generation bondsman Timothy Charles "Youngblood" Chapman is the son of Ronald Chapman and Diane Wimberly, a Colorado bondswoman whose slogan was "Let A Blond Write Your Bond." Tim grew up in Ventura, California, according to him. Tim and his brother, Russell J. Chapman, lived with their paternal grandparents for two years when his parents divorced when he was two and a half years old. Tim lived with his mother and maternal grandparents, who owned and operated ABC Bail Bonds in Denver during his teenage years. Tim states that he was 14 years old when he made his first civilian arrest.

Career as an American Bounty Hunter

Chapman met Duane "Dog" Chapman while working at his mother's bail bond company. Even though they are not related by blood, Dog refers to Tim as his "blood-brother." Tim later joined Dog, Beth Smith, and Dog's son Leland in Hawaii, where they had founded the Da Kine Bail Bonds company.

Tim Chapman was a regular cast member on Dog the Bounty Hunter for the first five seasons. From season six through the April 14, 2010 season seven episode "Mister Mom," Chapman was absent from the show. Chapman claimed that he needed to take a break to care for his four younger children. Champman was also struggling with the consequences of his second arrest. He returned and proceeded until the eighth season, which was also the last season.

After he finished up his time in the spotlight as a reality TV star, Tim released a book titled Reuse of Foundations which he co-authored with S. Anderson and Jan Windle in 2007. Tim's total assets have been pegged at $3 million.

Arrest

Tim Chapman, Duane "Dog" Chapman, and Leland Chapman were arrested by US Marshals on September 14, 2006, at the request of the Mexican government and were to be extradited to Mexico to face allegations of "deprivation of liberty." The allegations resulted from an incident in which Chapman, Dog, and Leland were hunting serial rapist and fugitive Andrew Luster, the Max Factor Cosmetics fortune heir. Luster was apprehended in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on June 18, 2003. Puerto Vallarta police officers arrested the three shortly after their apprehension; they posted bail but never returned to Mexico for their court hearing on July 15, 2003.

Tim, Dog, and Leland were all released on bond; Tim and Leland's bail amounts were set at $100,000 and $300,000, respectively. All three were given electronic bracelets and told to relinquish their passports and not leave the state of Hawaii after their release. Under the terms of treaties between the US and Mexico, they faced an extradition hearing to Mexico.

On the August 4, 2007 broadcast of Larry King Live, it was revealed that the Mexican government had dropped the charges against the three bounty hunters. The three could have faced up to four years in prison if found guilty.

Second Arrest

Tim Chapman was charged with first-degree "terroristic threats" in January 2008 after an altercation at the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition, he was charged with indecent exposure. According to police and prosecutors, when security guards reacted to a report of a man fondling himself in a vehicle at a parking lot around 9 p.m. on January 3, 2008, they recognized Chapman from his position on the program Dog the Bounty Hunter. Chapman was acquitted and discharged after a brief court hearing. This came after he had broken up with his partner.

Marriage & Divorce History

Tim Chapman was married to Davinanatasha Faletoi. The marriage met an end in 2009, and it finished in a separation. There was no official explanation behind the split, but there were rumors that Davina cheated on her man. It has been claimed that she wound up pregnant with another man.

Before the marriage reached an end, the couple had four children together. The names of their children are Summer Rain, Autumn Sky, Thunder Cloud, and Storm Hunter. Apart from the four children, Chapman also has a child from a relationship with another woman. That child, Tim Chapman Jr., was born in 1987.
