Michaela Pereira is an American television journalist and anchor. She is best known for her work on CNN's New Day and KTLA's Morning News. She is also the host of the podcast, "The Michaela Files."

Early Life

Michaela Pereira was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on August 26, 1970. She is of Portuguese and Chinese descent. She grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and attended the University of Calgary, where she earned a degree in communications.

Career

Pereira began her career in television in 1995 as a reporter and anchor for CTV in Calgary. She then moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to work as a reporter and anchor for KTLA. She was the host of the show, "The Michaela Files," which aired on KTLA from 2002 to 2005.

In 2005, Pereira joined CNN as a news anchor for Anderson Cooper 360. She then moved to CNN's New Day in 2013, where she served as a co-host until 2017. She also hosted the show, "Michaela," which aired on HLN from 2017 to 2018.

In 2018, Pereira returned to KTLA as the anchor of the morning news. She is also the host of the podcast, "The Michaela Files," which focuses on topics such as politics, culture, and lifestyle.

Awards and Accolades

Pereira has been honored with numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. She was named one of the "Most Influential Women in Los Angeles" by Los Angeles Magazine in 2011. She was also named one of the "Most Influential Women in Television News" by The Hollywood Reporter in 2013.

In addition, Pereira has been honored with several Emmy Awards for her work on CNN and KTLA. She was also the recipient of the Gracie Award for Outstanding Host in a Lifestyle/Travel Program in 2017.

Personal Life

Pereira is married to her husband, John, and they have two children together. She is an avid traveler and enjoys exploring new places. She is also an advocate for animal rights and is a supporter of the Humane Society.
