Ghida Fakhry is an award-winning journalist, author, and television presenter. She is best known for her work as a correspondent for Al Jazeera English, where she has reported from some of the world’s most dangerous and volatile regions.

Early Life

Ghida Fakhry was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1975. She was raised in a family of journalists and activists, and her parents instilled in her a passion for social justice and a commitment to telling stories that matter. She attended the American University of Beirut, where she earned a degree in Political Science and International Relations.

Career

After graduating, Ghida began her career as a journalist in Beirut, working for a variety of local and international media outlets. In 2002, she joined Al Jazeera English as a correspondent, and since then she has reported from some of the world’s most dangerous and volatile regions, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Middle East.

In addition to her work as a correspondent, Ghida has also written several books, including “The Battle for Arab Democracy” and “The Arab Uprising: The Unfinished Revolutions of the New Middle East.” She has also hosted several television programs, including “Inside Story” and “The Stream.”

Awards and Accolades

Ghida’s work has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades. In 2011, she was named one of the “100 Most Powerful Arab Women” by Arabian Business magazine.
