William George Hemmer was born on November 14, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the son of William R. Hemmer and Georganne M. Knittle. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Hemmer attended Elder High School in Cincinnati and graduated in 1983. He then attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism in 1988.

Career

Hemmer began his career in journalism in 1988 as a reporter for WLWT-TV in Cincinnati. He then moved to WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, where he worked as a reporter and weekend anchor. In 1995, he joined CNN, where he worked as a reporter and anchor for CNN World News. He was also the host of CNN's American Morning from 2001 to 2005.

In 2005, Hemmer left CNN and joined Fox News Channel, where he currently serves as the co-anchor of America's Newsroom. He also hosts the Fox News Radio program, Bill Hemmer Reports. In addition to his work on Fox News, Hemmer has also appeared as a guest on various other news programs, including The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity, and Fox & Friends.
