Early Life
Jim Acosta was born in Washington, D.C. in 1971. He attended Annandale High School in Virginia and then went on to study at James Madison University, where he earned a degree in mass communication. After college, he worked as a freelance journalist in Washington, D.C. and then went on to become a reporter for WTTG-TV, a Fox affiliate in the area.
Career
In 2000, Acosta joined CNN as a national political correspondent. He has since covered a variety of stories, including the 2008 presidential election, the 2012 presidential election, and the 2016 presidential election. He has also reported on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab Spring, and the Syrian civil war.

Controversy
