Short Biography
Mark Harmon is known as an American TV star. He is most famous for his roles on St. Elsewhere, Chicago Hope and NCIS.
Mark Harmon was born on September 2, 1951, in Burbank, California. He confronted a few difficulties growing up. His father, Tom Harmon, worked as a sports broadcaster. This job caused him to travel constantly, leaving his significant other Elyse Knox, a former actress, to care for the couple's three children. Mark profoundly felt his father's absence in the home and felt his wrath when they did actually spend time with each other.
Career as an American Television Actor
Toward the start of his acting career, Harmon looked to veteran actor Jack Webb, the star of the crime series Dragnet, for advice. Webb helped him land a guest spot on the crime drama Adam-12 (1968–1975). A string of guest appearances followed. Usually, the roles included a quiet, attractive outsider without talking lines.
Harmon immediately proceeded onward to another TV series that would land him on the map. The medicinal drama St. Elsewhere was the big break that he needed. He joined the cast during the widely praised program's second season.
Wife & Marriage
Harmon started dating actress Pam Dawber, who he met through a common companion. Dawber and Harmon married in 1987 in a small ceremony attended by loved ones. Not long after their wedding, the couple wound up involved in a bitter guardianship disagreement regarding Harmon's nephew, Sam.
Harmon took his sister, actress Kristin Harmon Nelson, to court out of worry for his nephew's upbringing. Kristin, when married to rocker Ricky Nelson, had been encountering issues with substance abuse. The fight in court separated the Harmon family with Harmon, his other sister Kelly, and his folks siding against Kristin. Harmon eventually dropped the suit to put a conclusion to the majority of the battling.
In June 2019, Harmon fashed public backlash when his NCIS co star, Pauley Perrette claimed that she will stay away forever from the show because of Harmon. The actress proclaimed on her twitter account that she is fearful of Harmon, "NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it! #HappyPlace Love y’all!"
Perrette, who played forensic expert Abby Sciuto, departed the series in 2018 after 15 seasons on the show. Harmon has yet to respond to the allegations.
