Jason Omar Holder was born on November 5, 1991 in Bridgetown, Barbados. Holder was born as one of those youthful cricketers who would demonstrate promise in the West Indian team.

Holder is a right handed quick bowler and a reliable batsman who bats lower down the order in the roster. He is the present commander of the West Indies Test and ODI group.

Holder made his ODI debut against Australia in February 2013 at Perth. That was a disappointing counterpart for West Indies as they were packaged out for 70 runs. Holder managed to take his first universal wicket by expelling Aaron Finch. He made his T20I debut against West Indies in January 2014 where he wound up with 2 wickets under his sleeves.
