Chapm started to become famous when he acted in the London stage production of Billy Elliot the Musical with the title role. Chapman got his biggest break as an actor when he appeared on HBO's Game of Thrones as Tommen Baratheon. In an interview with the Game of Owns podcast two weeks after the episode "Oathkeeper" was released, writer Bryan Cogman expressed that Tommen was recast in Season 4 since he turns into the new ruler, which implied much progressively substantial acting laid on the character, so they needed an increasingly experienced actor. Chapman was originally cast to play Martyn in Season 3.
