Cara Buono was born on March 1, 1971, in The Bronx, New York. She comes from an Italian family and grew up with two brothers and a sister. She had her high school instruction at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in Manhattan, New York City and for college, she went to Columbia University where she obtained a degree in English and Political Science. Buono started her professional acting presentation in the Harvey Fierstein stage play Spook House. She proceeded as a stage actress a short time later both on Broadway and off-Broadway and was ready to perform a couple of guest roles on TV. Her work on the CBS series, CBS Schoolbreak Special (1991) earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination.
