Anderson Cooper was born in New York City on June 3, 1967, to writer Wyatt Emory Cooper and designer and railroad beneficiary Gloria Vanderbilt. Since the beginning of his life, Cooper was presented to his mom's exciting way of life and group of friends, meeting famous people like Truman Capote among others. As an infant he was photo captured for the front of Harper's Bazaar by Diane Arbus, and later he delighted in a short career as a young model, appearing in advertising campaigns for organizations like Macy's and Ralph Lauren.
