Whoopi Goldberg is known as a comedian, actress, and activist. She is most famous for being a host on the female daytime talk show 'The View’ and films like ‘The Color Purple’ and ‘Sister Act’.


Whoopi Goldberg was born as Caryn Elaine Johnson on November 13, 1955, in New York City. Goldberg and her older brother, Clyde, were raised by their mom, Emma, in a poor housing project in the Chelsea region of Manhattan. She holds a Ph.D. in writing from New York University. She additionally has a privileged degree from Wilson College.

Marriage, Husband, and Kids

In 1973, Goldberg married her former medication counselor, Alvin Martin. The couple had one little girl, Alexandrea but they separated in 1979. She was married to cameraman David Claessen from 1986 to 1988. She was married to actor Lyle Trachtenberg from 1994 to 1995. After that marriage ended quickly, she dated the famous actor Frank Langella for quite a long while. Goldberg has since come out as a gay and lesbian rights lobbyist and an NRA member. On her first day, she defended football star Michael Vick in his dogfighting case, taking note of that the display isn't unordinary for a Southern local like Vick. On the following day's broadcast, Goldberg insisted that she wasn't condoning with Vick did but she said he was a product of his environment. After two years, in 2009, she would share an Emmy win with her cast in the Outstanding Talk Show Host category. In June 2019, Whoopi Goldberg got into a dispute with actress Bella Throne because of her nude photos.
