Background
Whoopi Goldberg was born as Caryn Elaine Johnson on November 13, 1955, in New York City. Goldberg and her older brother, Clyde, were raised by their mom, Emma, in a poor housing project in the Chelsea region of Manhattan. She holds a Ph.D. in writing from New York University. She additionally has a privileged degree from Wilson College.
Marriage, Husband, and Kids
In 1973, Goldberg married her former medication counselor, Alvin Martin. The couple had one little girl, Alexandrea but they separated in 1979. She was married to cameraman David Claessen from 1986 to 1988. She was married to actor Lyle Trachtenberg from 1994 to 1995. In June 2019, Whoopi Goldberg got into a dispute with actress Bella Throne because of her nude photos.
