Taylor Hall is known as a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League. He is most famous for being the first overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft when he was picked by the Edmonton Oilers.

Taylor Strba Hall was born on November 14, 1991 in Calgary, Canada. He was born as the child of Steve Hall and Kim Strba. His father was a former Canadian Football League player for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts and Ottawa Rough Riders in the mid-1980s, after which he was a member of the Canadian national bobsleigh group. His mom acquainted him with hockey at five years old while his father kept up a lawn arena each winter which Hall and his companions trained on determinedly. His family moved to Kingston, Ontario, in 2005, where he went to high school at Frontenac Secondary School.

Hall started playing minor hockey in Calgary, Alberta. At the point when he was 13, his family moved to Kingston, Ontario, where he kept on playing. Taylor caught a Bantam AAA Calgary city championship with the North East Canucks during the 2004–05 season. In 2005–06 and 2006–07 Hall played Bantam and Minor hockey for the Greater Kingston Predators of the ODMHA group. Hall was named to the ODMHA Midget AAA All-Star group. Ryan O'Reilly was chosen first overall in front of Hall by the Erie Otters.

Not long after being chosen first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Hall signed his first professional contract. Hall made his NHL debut on October 7, 2010, as the Oilers vanquished one of their most despised adversaries, the Calgary Flames at Rexall Place.
