Edward Allen Harris was born on November 28, 1950 in Englewood Health, Englewood, NJ. Harris went to Columbia University, where he played football for a long time until he got keen on acting. He at that point studied at Oklahoma State University and appeared in various theater performances before moving to California, where he graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in 1975.
