Ryan Rodney Reynolds, famously known as Ryan Reynolds, is a Canadian actor known for Wade Wilson/Deadpool in X-Men Origins and his charismatic, quirky, and quick-witted smart aleck.

Childhood and Family

Ryan Reynolds was born in Vancouver, Canada, on October 23, 1976, as the youngest of his four siblings. His father, James Chester, was a wholesaler, and his mother was a retail saleswoman. Ryan's two brothers served as policemen, whereas his other brother was with the RCMP. Ryan's grandfather, Chester Reynolds, was a politician, a member of the Legislative Assembly for Stettler, Alberta.

Ryan began acting at 13; he attended various casting calls and opportunities which luckily landed him a lead role in Nickelodeon's teen soap opera Hillside (in the United States). He did the show from 1991 to 1993 and returned to Vancouver afterward.

By the time he graduated in 1994, he had appeared in several movies and tv shows. He struggles to lift his career, and soon he grew tired as he wasn't gaining any success, so he decided to quit acting for good. He had to take various other jobs to make ends meet, and he also worked in a supermarket. When he met his fellow actor friend, Chris Martin, he felt motivated and decided to pursue an acting career by going to LA.

Career

After moving to Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds played supporting roles in TV series and movies. He turned down the offer to play Xander in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer because he didn't want to play a teenager anymore. In 1998, he landed a medical school student's role in the ABC sitcom Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. The series developed Ryans' ability for mimicry and imbecilic bumbling. In 2002, a cult hit movie, 'National Lampoon's Van Wilder' opened the door to Ryan Reynolds's success.

Personal Life

Ryan Reynolds did garner much attention in his personal life. Ryan and singer Alanis Morissette, who had dated for several years, were engaged in 2004, but the couple broke up in 2007. The same year, Ryan and Scarlett Johansson fell in love with each other and married in 2008.

But the couple separated in 2010. Ryan experienced heartbreak and was very disappointed in the way their love had to end. Ryan released the following statement after the couple split. "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage," the couple said in a joint statement. "We entered our relationship with love, and it's with love and kindness we leave it."

In 2010, He met Blake Lively during the filming of 'Green Lantern'; the couple married in 2012 and lived happily ever since. They have three daughters, James, Inez, and Betty. Betty's name was revealed publicly by Taylor Swift, one of her close friends, in one of her songs from the album Evermore.

Canada's Walk of Fame announced Ryan Reynolds's installation in 2011, but Ryan Couldn't attend the ceremony, causing a delay. Eventually, in 2014, the induction ceremony took place. 

A proud Canadian citizen, Ryan, has a Nine O'Clock Gun tattoo on his left forearm, representing the naval cannon in Stanley Park that is fired every day at 9:00 pm. Ryan suffers from anxiety and long struggled to deal with it; he was diagnosed with it in 20167 when he experienced a nervous breakdown.

Ryan occasionally blogs for Huffington Post, and he is the board member of the Micheal J Foz Foundation that researches Parkinson's disease, a disease that took his father in 2015.

Ryan was declared the Sexiest Man alive by the People's Magazine in 2010 and Sexiest Dad Alive in 2016.

Ryan Reynolds once revealed that he survived a near-death experience during a skydiving ordeal. When he was 17, his parachute failed to open during the dive when he panicked in his primary move.
