Who is Kevin Cordes?

Kevin Cordes is an American swimmer who is most famous for finishing in fourth place at the 2016 Olympic Games for the Men's 100m Breaststroke. He was born on August 13, 1993, in Naperville, Illinois, and came from a family of athletes; his father, Bill, played football for the University of Arizona, his sister, Caroline, played volleyball for the University of Arizona, and his brother, Jack, played basketball for Hillsdale College.

Cordes began swimming at the Maverick Swim Club when he was a young boy, and then swam for the Fox Valley Swim Club while he was attending high school at Neuqua Valley. He was the Illinois high school state champion in the 100-yard breaststroke during his sophomore year. In 2010, he won a spot on the U.S. Junior Pan Pac Championships team, where he finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke. He graduated from the University of Arizona, where he was a physiology major, and was a six-time NCAA champion swimming for the Arizona Wildcats. He won the 100-yard breaststroke for four consecutive years and the 200-yard breaststroke in back-to-back years.

Career and Net Worth

At the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, Kevin Cordes won a gold medal in the preliminaries of the 100-meter breaststroke. For the 400-meter relay, Cordes won his first team Olympic medal. In 2017, Cordes qualified for the preliminaries in Indianapolis for his third consecutive World Championship. He took gold in the 200-meter breaststroke, over a second ahead of Nicolas Fink who came in second. He completed a decisive victory in the breaststroke events later in the week, taking gold in the 50 and 100 meter events. Kevin Cordes' net worth is not publicly available.
