Muhammad Ali was known as a former heavyweight boxing champion. He is most famous for his epic title tights, his public stance against the Vietnam War and his fatal battle with Parkinson's disease.
Background
Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. on January 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky. At an early age, Muhammad Ali demonstrated that he wasn't apprehensive about any session inside or outside of the ring. Experiencing childhood in the isolated South, he encountered racial segregation firsthand.
At 12 years old, Ali found his ability for boxing through an odd touch of destiny. His bicycle was stolen, and Ali told a cop, Joe Martin, that he needed to thrash the criminal. In addition to being a cop, Martin also prepared youthful fighters at a neighborhood exercise center.
Marriage, Divorce History
Ali was married multiple times and had nine children, including two children he fathered outside of marriage. Ali married his first spouse, Sonji Roi, in 1964, they separated following one year when she wouldn't embrace the Nation of Islam customs and traditions.
Ali married his second spouse, 17-year-old Belinda Boyd, in 1967. Boyd and Ali had four children together. Boyd and Ali separated in 1976. While Ali was married to Boyd, he had an open affair with Veronica Porche, who turned into his third spouse in 1977. The pair had two girls together, including Laila Ali, who emulated Ali's example by turning into a prizefighter. Porche and Ali separated in 1986.
Ali married his fourth and last spouse Yolanda in 1986. The pair had known each other since Lonnie was only six and Ali was 21, their moms were closest companions and raised their families on a similar road. Ali and Lonnie couple stayed married until he passed and had one child together, Asaad.
Career and Net Worth
In the wake of winning gold at the 1960 Olympics, Ali took out British heavyweight champion Henry Cooper in 1963. He at that point thumped out Sonny Liston in 1964 to turn into the heavyweight hero of the world. Another unbelievable Ali battle occurred in 1974 against undefeated heavyweight champion George Foreman. Hailed as the "Rumbled in the Jungle," the fight was promoted by advertiser Don King and held in Kinshasa, Zaire.
For the first time ever, Ali was viewed as the longshot to the more youthful, monstrous Foreman; however, he quieted his commentators with a mind-blowing performance. He bedeviled Foreman into tossing wild punches with his "rope-a-dope" procedure, before dazzling his rival with an eighth-round knockout to recover the heavyweight title.
