Kimberly Jan Dickens was born on June 18, 1965 in Huntsville, Alabama. Kim was born to Pam Howell and Justin Dickens who was a blue grass music performer. Dickens was a student at Lee High School and went to college at Vanderbilt University. After some time as a fresh college grad, Kim Dickens relocated to New York City and got some work where she utilized her income to pay for her studies in Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
