Nationality and Education
Karen Sheila Gillan was born on November 28, 1987, in Inverness, United Kingdom. She was hit by the acting bug right off the bat. This affection for acting saw her participate in plenty of stage productions and go to different youth theater shows during her time at her high school, Charleston Academy.
When she turned 16, she had her sights completely determined to a career in acting. Around the same time, she moved to Edinburgh to take a seminar on acting and performance at Telford College. During this time, she prepared under Scott Johnson, an outstanding director of the theater. At 18, she migrated to London to study at the consecrated Italia Conti Academy of Theater Arts.
Karen has been in a couple of relationships in her time. The most known one was her association with British photographer Patrick Green. The two started dating in 2006, affirming their relationship to the media later. They were spotted together a couple of times in the public, however they kept their relationship generally quiet. They eventually isolated in 2012 following six years together.
Proceeding onward, she was rumored to date actor Andrew Brooke. The Sherlock Holmes actor had worked with Gillan on one of her guest appearances on Doctor Who. Before long the gossip factories were raising signs about their relationship. These rumors turned out to be significantly more true after they were spotted locking lips during a night out in Spain.
There were also gossipy tidbits about her and co-star Matt Smith, however, these bits of gossip held even less water than the Andrew Brooke bits of gossip.
Acting Career and Net Worth
She made it big when she joined the cast of BBC's hit TV series Doctor Who. On the show, she played Amy Pond, the partner to the Eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith. She was associated with the series from 2008 to 2017, appearing in 38 episodes.
Her developing notoriety kept on clearing a path for her to assume greater roles. In 2014, she depicted the despicable character Nebula in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. For the role, Karen Gillan needed to shave off her hair, a moment she later depicted as freeing. She would repeat the role three years later in the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In July 2019, a trailer was released featuring Karen in the third installment of the Jumanji franchise.Date modified: Aug 9, 2020
