Francis Ngannou is known as a Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist competing in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is most famous for his large physique and unmatched punching power.

Background and Childhood

Francis Ngannou was born on September 5, 1986 in Batié, Cameroon. Ngannou was brought up in destitution and along these lines, he got almost no training while at the same time growing up. At around the age of 12, Ngannou looked for some kind of employment in a sand quarry. Francis Ngannou was a poor 27-year-old man in Paris when he started preparing under mentor Didier Carmont. Being a devotee of the unbelievable Mike Tyson, Ngannou wanted the same type of boxing training like his idol did. That did not end up happening as Ngannou was taught mixed martial arts by his coach and he never looked back.

Ngannou battled all over Europe under various promotions, storing up a 5-1 record before getting the chance to make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut in December 2015 against newcomer Luis Henrique who he thumped out with a punch in the second round. Ngannou then proceeded to beat different newcomers Curtis Blaydes and Bojan Mihajlović through Technical Knockout as his stock rose in the game.

Francis Ngannou's biggest fight to date was for the UFC Heavyweight title. He fought against American Stipe Miocic who commanded him and gave him his first UFC loss by means of a decision. In June 2019, Francis climbed back to a title shot with a win over Junior Dos Santos.
