Kane Allen Brown was born on October 21, 1993 in Chattanooga, TN. Raised by a single parent, Brown experienced childhood in Redbank, Tennessee, where he built a passion for music while in high school. At first pulled in to R&B, Brown chose to concentrate on country music in the wake of winning an eleventh grade talent show challenge with his interpretation of Chris Young's "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)."

Kane went to Red Bank High School. He then went to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School and Soddy-Daisy High School.
