Joe Biden was born on November 20, 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His father, Joseph Biden Sr., worked cleaning heaters and as a trade-in vehicle sales rep. His mom was Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan. Biden went to St. Paul's Elementary School in Scranton. In 1955, when he was 13 years of age, the family moved to Mayfield, Delaware a quickly developing white collar class network supported fundamentally by the local DuPont organization.

After he lost support, he changed his stance and claimed that he no longer was backing it. Critics claimed that his change of heart was shallow and not a true reflection of his values. He claimed that he changed his mind because he did not endorse what Alabama did a month earlier when they banned abortins.
