Heather Locklear is known as an American actress. She is most famous for her roles on popular TV shows like 'Dynasty,' 'T.J. Hooker,' and 'Melrose Place'.
Background
Heather Locklear was born on September 25, 1961 in Los Angeles, California. She was brought up in a Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks. Her father worked as a director in the recorder's office at the University of California, Los Angeles, and her mom worked as a clerical specialist for the Walt Disney Company.
Marriage, Husband, and Kids
Locklear's seven-year marriage to famous metal drummer Tommy Lee finished in separation in August 1993. About one year later, in December 1994, she married Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. After three years, the couple had their first little girl, Ava Elizabeth Sambora. In 2006, Locklear and Sambora sought legal separation, which was settled in April 2007.
On June 17, 2018, the actress was taken to the medical clinic in Thousand Oaks, California for a mental assessment for purportedly taking steps to shoot herself. In June 2019, a close friend of hers said that she went into a deep depression after seeing 'The Dirt: a film about Tommy's band, Mötley Crüe. Heather started drinking heavily because the film contained scenes about their marriage and reminded her of their past. Heather has had a history of mental issues in recent years and watching the film only made her problems worse.
Acting Career and Net Worth
Locklear showed up on CHiPs in 1980, and later guest-featured on the shows Eight Is Enough and Twirl. Locklear got put on the map in 1981 when she tried out for a role in Dynasty, the mainstream prime-time soap opera featuring John Forsythe, Joan Collins and Linda Evans. She played Sammy Jo Carrington, the scheming spouse of Steven on the show, which was produced by Aaron Spelling.
In 1993, Locklear rejoined with Spelling as part of the cast of Melrose Place, a spinoff of the amazingly successful drama, Beverly Hills 90210. Preceding her appearance on Melrose, the show's appraisals were bleak. After her landing as Amanda Woodward, a plotting promoting official and apartment-complex proprietor, the show's ratings took off.
Melrose Place was dropped in 1998, however, the next year, Locklear had the chance to rebuild her brand as mayoral consultant Caitlin Moore on the sitcom Spin City. Exchanging scenes with co-stars Michael J. Fox and, later, Charlie Sheen, Locklear helped the show's ratings and exhibited her flexibility as an actress.
