Donovan Mitchell

 Donovan Mitchell was born on September 7, 1996 in Elmsford New York. He attended Canterbury School in New Milford where he was also a standout baseball player. After two years of attending there, and sustaining an injury playing baseball, he transferred to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He committed to the University of Louisville after winning two Prep School National Championships.

Mitchell played two seasons for the Louisville Cardinals and was named to the All-ACC First Team in his Sophomore year. He declared for the NBA draft in 2017 after only 2 seasons in the NCAA.

Mitchell was drafted 13th overall by the Denver Nuggets, but traded to Utah for the 24th pick in the draft and Trey Lyles. He made his NBA debut on October 18, 2017 against the team that originally drafted him, the Denver Nuggets. Mitchell replaced an injured Aaron Gordon in the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, which he won. In his rookie season, he set a record for most three-point shots made by a rookie with 186. He was named to the NBA all-Rookie First Team that same season. Mitchell was named to his first All-Star team in the 2019-2020 season.

Mitchell was an avid baseball fan and played during his first two years of high school. His early idols were Scott Kazmir and David Wright. Mitchell was also in attendance when LeBron James made his announcement to play for the Miami Heat.
