Max Scherzer is known as an American professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. He is most famous for pitching seven scoreless innings with a black eye and a broken nose.

Background

Max Scherzer was born on July 27, 1984 in Chesterfield, Missouri as a child to Jan and Brad Scherzer. He spent quite a bit of his growing up days in Chesterfield. He was educated at Parkway Central High School in the place where he grew up where he also played baseball for the school's squad. A chance to play in MLB came his way in 2003 when he got drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 43rd round however he didn't sign the agreement, rather, he picked to go to the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

Max Scherzer is married to Erica May who he met at the University of Missouri where they were both pitchers. May played softball for the school's softball crew yet an awful heart condition constrained her to keep playing.

They got married in November 2013 following 8 years of dating and after 4 years in November 2017, their little girl Brooklyn May-Scherzer was born. The group of three has their home in McLean, a suburb of Washington, D.C in Northern Virginia where they live with four rescue canines and two cats.

Max Scherzer's contract agreement with the Washington Nationals turned into the biggest in their history and the second-highest for any pitcher behind the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw.
