Background
Colin Jost was born on June 29, 1982 in Staten Island, New York to Daniel A. Jost and Kerry J. Kelly. He has a brother named Casey who fills in as a writer for Impractical Jokers. His father worked as an educator at Staten Island Technical High School and later took up engineering work. His mom served the New York City Fire Department as the primary medical officer. Jost went to Regis High School in Manhattan. Afterward, he was selected to study at Harvard University.
Career
In 2018, Colin Jost returned for his fifth season of "SNL" as co-anchor of "Weekend Update," along with featured cast member Michael Che. In December of 2017, Jost was re-named as one of four co-head writers.
Jost became a “Weekend Update” co-anchor in 2014. Jost has been a writer at "SNL" since 2005 and filled in as co-head writer from 2012-2015.
Jost has won four Writers Guild Awards, a Peabody Award and has been nominated for different Emmy Awards for his writing on "SNL." He also wrote and featured in the Paramount/Netflix film "Staten Island Summer," which was based on his days as a lifeguard experiencing his youth in New York.
Jost and Che also hosted unique editions of "Weekend Update" on MSNBC during the 2016 Republican and Democratic national conventions as well as the primetime "Weekend Update Summer Edition" in 2017. Their version of “Weekend Update” has done a lot to advance their careers. Che has gone on to become a famous comedian while Jost has earned respect among comedy writers.

On May 19, 2019 it was announced that famous actress, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were engaged to be married. Johansson's rep, Marcel Pariseau, confirmed to USA TODAY that the couple are engaged following two years together.
The couple made their relationship official a year, connecting arms and posing for pictures at the debut of "Avengers: Infinity War," in which Johansson featured as Black Widow. This will be the first marriage for the "Saturday Night Live" star Jost.
It will be a third marriage for Johansson, who was recently in a marriage with "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 and journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017. Romain is the father of her girl, Rose Dorothy Dauriac.
