He signed with an agent and worked on commercials before the motion picture roles started coming in. In 2014, Alexander Ludwig joined the primary cast of the TV series Vikings, supplanting Nathan O'Toole as Björn Ironside, the child of Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha. The role was huge for him and started to get him more movie roles. In September 2019, the trailer for Bad Boys Forever was released. Ludwig will play a supporting role in the film.
