William Bury Westall was born on April 4, 1822 in London, England. He was the son of a wealthy merchant and was educated at the Royal Academy of Arts. He was an avid painter and was known for his landscapes and seascapes. He was also a talented musician and was a member of the Royal Academy of Music.
Career
Westall began his career as a painter in the 1840s and quickly gained recognition for his work. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts and exhibited his work at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He was also a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and exhibited his work at the Royal Society of British Artists in London.
Westall was also a successful illustrator and was commissioned to illustrate books such as The Bible, The Arabian Nights, and The Pilgrim's Progress. He was also commissioned to paint portraits of prominent figures such as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
