Early Life
Vuk Drašković was born in Belgrade, Serbia, to a family of Montenegrin origin. His father, Đorđe Drašković, was a prominent lawyer and a member of the Yugoslav Communist Party. Vuk was educated at the University of Belgrade, where he studied law and philosophy. After graduating, he worked as a journalist for the Belgrade-based daily newspaper Politika.
Political Career
In 1990, Drašković founded the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), a nationalist political party that sought to promote Serbian interests in the former Yugoslavia. The SPO was a major force in the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s, and Drašković was a vocal advocate for Serbian interests in the conflict. He was a vocal critic of the international community's involvement in the conflict, and was a strong supporter of Slobodan Milošević.
