Early Life
Vincent Gallo was born on April 11, 1961 in Buffalo, New York. He is the son of Vincenzo Vito Gallo, a hairdresser and professional gambler, and Janet, a homemaker. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister.
Gallo attended the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, where he studied acting and music. He also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.
Acting Career
Gallo made his acting debut in the 1985 film The Way It Is. He then appeared in several independent films, including Buffalo '66, which he also wrote and directed. The film was a critical success and earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Male Lead.
Gallo then starred in the controversial film The Brown Bunny, which he also wrote and directed. The film was met with mixed reviews, but it earned him a Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.
