Thomas James Mison was born on July 23, 1982 in Woking, United Kingdom. He went to Hurtwood House, a 6th structure school that teaches drama and music. He prepared at the Webber-Douglas Academy, where he was granted the Sir John Gielgud Trust Award, from 2001 to 2004. His speech coach at Webber-Douglas prompted him to go for period pieces. A dear companion at Webber-Douglas was Rupert Friend, an actor and writer with whom Mison teamed up to make the short film The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers in 2009.
In 2001, while still a drama student, Mison participated in the American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory program. Mison had a role in Time on Fire, a play about the American Revolution by Timothy Mason, which the Young Conservatory performed at London's National Theater and San Francisco's Magic Theater. Mison played a British warrior covered up and protected by his romantic intrigue, played by Caitlin Talbot.

From 2005 to 2008, Mison appeared in various motion pictures in little roles. These early film appearances include roles in the Hallmark Channel motion picture Mysterious Island, the BBC TV motion picture A Waste of Shame: The Mystery of Shakespeare and His Sonnets, and the Peter O'Toole vehicle Venus.
In 2011, Mison played Callum in the film adaptation of David Nicholls' epic One Day. One Day featured Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess and Lone Scherfig directed. His most prominent film role to date came in 2012 in the lighthearted comedy Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. Lasse Halstrom directed this movie adaptation of Paul Torday's tale, and Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt featured. Mison played Capt. Robert Mayers, the military sweetheart of Emily Blunt's character Harriet. The motion picture was commonly generally welcomed basically and got along nicely in the cinematic world. In the US, it arrived in the cinema world top ten, cresting at No. 7. The review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes reports a 67% positive rating among pundits, in light of 139 reviews.
After the season finale of Watchmen was broadcasted in December 2019, there were requests concerning whether Watchmen would return for season 2.
