Early Career

Director
In the 1930s, Duckmanton began to focus more on directing than acting. He directed a number of British films, including The Ghost Train (1931), The Love Contract (1932), and The Ghost of St. Michael's (1933). He also directed a number of musicals, including The Gay Divorcee (1934) and The Lady Vanishes (1938). He continued to direct films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, including The Man in Grey (1943) and The Happiest Days of Your Life (1950).
Later Career
In the 1950s, Duckmanton began to focus more on television work. He directed a number of television series, including The Adventures of Robin Hood (1955-1959) and The Buccaneers (1956-1957). He also directed a number of television films, including The Scarlet Pimpernel (1956) and The Adventures of Sir Lancelot (1956-1957). He continued to work in television until his death in 1962.
