Robert Frederick Smith is known as an American businessman, investor and philanthropist. He is most famous for being the founder of private equity firm Vista Equity Partners and for paying off the college debts of the 2019 graduating class at Morehouse College.

Robert Frederick Smith was born in Denver, Colorado, on December 1, 1962, to educators Dr. William Robert Smith and Dr. Sylvia Myrna Smith. When Smith was a little child, his mom took him to the March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. conveyed his "I Have a Dream" speech.

Smith went to Carson Elementary School and Gove Jr. Secondary School in Denver before moving on from Denver's East High School. In high school, he applied for a late spring temporary job at Bell Labs however was told the position was for undergrads. After much hard work and persistence, he got the position and ended up creating a dependability test for semiconductors.

Career

During his commencement speech at Morehouse College on May 19, 2009 Smith got an honorary degree, and then went on to tell the class of 2019 that he would pay for their college debt. After Smith made that declaration, the students celebrated with happiness and media outlets all over came to cover the act of generosity.

After the graduation and serenades of "MVP" faded away, he additionally stated that what he was doing was for the future of the country. He didn’t believe that it was fair for young people to be straddled with debt and expected to be productive at the same time.

Robert Smith married Hope Dworaczyk, Playboy's 2010 Playmate of the Year, in a lavish wedding service on Italy's Amalfi Coast. July 2015 marked the moment the pair would tie their hands in marriage at the prestigious Hotel Villa Cimbrone.

PageSix provided a quick report on their ceremony, "The drive to the secluded retreat has been called 'daunting,' so 'helicopters had to fly in each piece of equipment, making over 100 trips back and forth to the five-star resort overlooking dizzying views,'"

Based on the Instagram photographs of the wedding guests, it appears the exertion was justified, despite all the trouble for the big name performances alone. Famous R/B singer John Legend serenaded the lady of the hour down the path.  He later sang "All of Me" during the unifying function. It was the couple's first dance when Seal played out his classic hit, "Kiss From A Rose."
