Early Life

Robert Chandler was born in London, England in 1845. He was the son of a wealthy merchant and was raised in a privileged environment. He attended the prestigious Eton College and then went on to study at Oxford University. After graduating, he decided to pursue a career in law and was admitted to the bar in 1868.

Career

Robert Chandler began his legal career as a barrister in London. He quickly gained a reputation as a skilled and knowledgeable lawyer and was soon appointed to the Queen's Counsel in 1872. He was also appointed to the Privy Council in 1875.

In 1877, Chandler was appointed as the Solicitor General for England and Wales. He held this position for two years before being appointed as the Attorney General in 1879. He held this position for four years and was responsible for overseeing the prosecution of many high-profile cases.

In 1883, Chandler was appointed as the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. He held this position for the next ten years and was responsible for overseeing the administration of justice in the country. He was also responsible for introducing several reforms to the legal system, including the introduction of the jury system.

Later Life

In 1893, Chandler retired from his position as Lord Chief Justice and returned to private practice. He continued to practice law until his death in 1910. During his later years, he was also involved in several charitable organizations and was a patron of the arts.

Robert Chandler is remembered as one of the most influential figures in the history of English law. He was responsible for introducing several reforms to the legal system and was a strong advocate for justice and fairness.
