Rob de Nijs (born December 30, 1942) is a Dutch singer-songwriter and actor. He is one of the most successful Dutch singers of all time, having released over 50 albums and selling over 10 million records. He is also known for his acting roles in films such as The Flying Dutchman (1973) and The Little Ark (1974).

Early Life

Rob de Nijs was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to a Dutch father and a Belgian mother. He grew up in the city of Utrecht, where he attended the local high school. At the age of 15, he started playing guitar and writing songs. He soon became a regular performer at local clubs and bars.

Music Career

In 1962, de Nijs released his first single, "Ritme van de Regen" (Rhythm of the Rain). The song was an instant hit and propelled him to stardom.
