He worked as a sales representative for the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and then as a program director for the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). In 1966, he founded Viacom, a media conglomerate that would become one of the largest in the world.
Under Baruch’s leadership, Viacom grew to become a major player in the media industry. It acquired a number of television networks, including MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central. It also acquired Paramount Pictures, one of the largest movie studios in the world.
