Ralph B. Rogers was an American entrepreneur and philanthropist who was best known for his role in the founding of the telecommunications giant, Rogers Communications. He was born in 1925 in the small town of Hamilton, Ohio, and grew up in a family of modest means. He attended the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.

Early Career

After graduating, Rogers began his career as an engineer at the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the company's vice president of engineering. During his time at Ohio Bell, Rogers developed a number of innovative technologies that would later become the foundation of Rogers Communications.

Founding of Rogers Communications

In 1967, Rogers left Ohio Bell to pursue his own business venture. He founded Rogers Communications, a telecommunications company that would eventually become one of the largest in Canada. Rogers was the company's first president and CEO, and he was instrumental in its growth and success. He was a pioneer in the development of cellular technology, and he was the first to introduce cellular service in Canada.

Philanthropy
