Otto von Corvin was a German military leader and statesman who served as the commander of the Prussian Army during the Seven Years' War. Early Life

Otto von Corvin was born in 1712 in the city of Berlin, Prussia. His father, Johann von Corvin, was a successful military officer and his mother, Anna von Corvin, was a member of the Prussian nobility. Otto was educated at the University of Halle and the University of Berlin, where he studied military science and strategy.

Military Career

In 1740, Otto von Corvin joined the Prussian Army and quickly rose through the ranks. He was appointed to the position of Major General in 1745 and was given command of the Prussian Army in 1756. During the Seven Years' War, Corvin led the Prussian forces to a series of victories over the Austrians and French. He was particularly successful in the Battle of Rossbach, where he defeated a much larger French army. His success in this battle helped to establish Prussia as a major European power.

Later Years

After the Seven Years' War, Corvin was appointed to the position of Field Marshal and was given command of the Prussian Army. He continued to serve in this position until his death in 1790. During his later years, Corvin was a vocal advocate for military reform and modernization. He was also a strong supporter of Prussian nationalism and was a key figure in the unification of Germany.
