Background and Age
Sarah Caroline Olivia Colman was born on Jan. 30, 1974, in Norfolk, England. Her mom was a medical caretaker and her father was a chartered surveyor. Colman went to a nearby tuition based school, Gresham's School. She had her first acting part in a school play, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, when she was 16. After she graduated, she quickly decided on a teaching career and took courses in instructing at Homerton College at Cambridge.
She met her future spouse, Ed Sinclair who was a law student, at Cambridge. Harboring a desire to act, Colman tailed him to acting school, Britain's Bristol Old Vic Theater School, where she graduated in 1999. The school's graduating class included Daniel Day-Lewis, Jeremy Irons, and Patrick Stewart.
Married, Husband and Kids
Colman married author Ed Sinclair in 2001. They have three children and live in London together. Coleman recognizes her flexibility however abstains from appointing a particular technique to the manner in which she approaches acting.
