Early Life

Mimi Rocah is an American attorney and legal analyst for MSNBC. She was born in New York City in 1972 and raised in the Bronx. She is the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, and her parents instilled in her a strong sense of justice and the importance of standing up for what is right. She attended the Bronx High School of Science and then went on to attend Harvard College, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1994. She then attended Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review and graduated cum laude in 1997.

Legal Career

After graduating from law school, Rocah began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert D. Sack of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She then worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2002 to 2017. During her time as an AUSA, she prosecuted a wide range of cases, including white-collar crime, public corruption, and violent crime. She also served as the Chief of the White Plains Division and the Chief of the Organized Crime and Gangs Unit.

In 2017, Rocah left the U.S. Attorney's Office and joined the Pace Law School faculty as a Distinguished Fellow in Criminal Justice. In this role, she teaches courses on criminal law and procedure, white-collar crime, and public corruption. She also serves as a legal analyst for MSNBC, providing commentary on legal issues and criminal justice reform.

Advocacy
