Early Life

Michael Eisner was born on March 7, 1942 in Mount Kisco, New York. He was the son of Margaret and Lester Eisner, a homemaker and a lawyer, respectively. Eisner attended the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and then went on to attend Denison University in Ohio, where he graduated with a degree in English in 1964.

Career

After college, Eisner began his career in the entertainment industry as an assistant at ABC in New York. He quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the head of ABC's prime-time programming in 1976. In 1984, Eisner was hired as the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, where he would remain for the next two decades. During his tenure, Eisner was credited with transforming Disney into a global entertainment powerhouse. He oversaw the acquisition of ABC, ESPN, and Pixar, as well as the launch of the Disney Channel and the Disney Cruise Line.
