Margaret Brennan is an American journalist and news anchor who currently serves as the moderator of CBS News' Face the Nation. She is also a correspondent for CBS News and a contributor to CBS This Morning.

Early Life

Margaret Brennan was born on March 26, 1980 in Stamford, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Edward and Jane Brennan. She attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut, and graduated from the University of Virginia in 2002 with a degree in Foreign Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies.

Career

Brennan began her career in journalism in 2002 as a production assistant at CNBC. She then moved to Bloomberg Television in 2004, where she served as a producer and reporter. In 2007, she joined CBS News as a reporter and producer for the CBS Evening News.

In 2012, Brennan was named White House and Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent for CBS News. She covered the Obama administration and reported from more than 25 countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran. In 2015, she was named the moderator of Face the Nation, becoming the first woman to hold the position.
