Lyssa Rae Brittain is Dog The Bounty Hunter's third spouse. She got married to Dog on June 22, 1982. Their marriage was performed by a Native American chief. She was married to another man when Dog and she initially met. The couple eventually got married only fourteen days before they invited their first kid, Barbara Katie Chapman on June 8, 1982.

They proceeded to have three additional children. Their son, Tucker Dee Chapman was born on September 8, 1983, Nicholas Chapman was born on May 2, 1985, and Lyssa Rae Chapman was born on June 10, 1987. Dog and Lyssa finished their marriage nine and a half years later on November 20, 1991. Since separating with Dog, Lyssa has been trying to stay out of the media spotlight.

In Feb 2020, Lyssa's daughter Lyssa Chapman was accused of two tallies of harassment following a quarrel in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Dog the Bounty Hunter star was captured that day following a battle with a lady whom Chapman says is her sweetheart. Chapman is accused of one count of harassment as a detriment to her sweetheart and another crime accusation of provocation against a man. It is unknown who the man was or what his relationship to Chapman and her better half is.

Chapman was captured in Honolulu after cops were called during a battle she and her better half were having. She was held for badgering and opposing capture, yet was liberated on bail soon thereafter. She was arrested once already, in 2011, for harassment and criminal property harm charges. Police said around then that liquor was a factor, and that she was contentious with police.

Although Lyssa Chapman is the little girl of Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane "Dog" Chapman and his third spouse, Lyssa Rae Brittain, she was still close to her stepmother, Beth Chapman until Beth's passing from cancer in June 2019. Lyssa Chapman has been a vocal adversary of her father's relationship with Moon Angell, blaming Angell for dating one of Duane Chapman's children and attempting to supplant Beth. Both Angell and Chapman state they're simply companions.
