Lin Bolen is an American television executive and producer who has been a major force in the entertainment industry for over four decades. She is best known for her work as the executive producer of the hit television series, "The Young and the Restless."

Early Life

Lin Bolen was born in Los Angeles, California in 1945. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a degree in English Literature. After graduating, she began her career in the entertainment industry as a production assistant for the television series, "The Mod Squad."

Career

In the early 1970s, Bolen was hired as a programming executive at NBC. During her time at the network, she was responsible for developing and launching some of the most successful television shows of the era, including "The Rockford Files," "The A-Team," and "Cheers." She also served as the executive producer of the hit series, "The Young and the Restless," which ran for over 30 years.

In the late 1980s, Bolen left NBC to become the president of the television division at Columbia Pictures. During her tenure, she oversaw the production of several hit television shows, including "Designing Women," "Murphy Brown," and "The Nanny." She also served as the executive producer of the popular sitcom, "Friends."

In the early 2000s, Bolen left Columbia Pictures to become the president of the television division at Universal Studios. During her time at the studio, she was responsible for the development and production of several hit television shows, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "House," and "Heroes."

Lin Bolen has been a major force in the entertainment industry for over four decades.
