Amy Freeze was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 17, 1972. She grew up in a family of five, with her parents and two siblings. Her father was a professor of physics at the University of Utah and her mother was a homemaker. From a young age, Amy was fascinated by the weather and would often watch the local news to learn more about it.
Education
Amy Freeze attended the University of Utah, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences. She then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
